DIYARBAKIR - MARDIN - MIDYAT - HASANKEYF - MALABADI BRIDGE - BATMAN - YEZIDI VILLAGE - SYRIAC VILLAGE - BEYAZ SU

Day 1

DIYARBAKIR - SULUKLU HAN - CEMIL PASA MANSION - ZERZEVAN CASTLE - MARDIN - HISTORICAL STREETS - LIVING MUSEUM

Our tour starts by meeting at the airport at 5.40 AM. We complete our check-in procedures at the airport with our ID card or driver's license. After passing through security, we depart for Diyarbakir with the Ajet HY Ankara - Diyarbakir flight departing at 07.55. Upon arrival in Diyarbakir, we board our vehicle waiting for us and first visit the Diyarbakir Grand Mosque, believed to be one of the oldest mosques in Islamic history and the 5th Harem-i Sharif, located within the city walls. Afterwards, we see and photograph the Ten-Eyed Bridge built over the Tigris River and the Hevsel Gardens. Then, we visit the approximately 130-year-old Cemil Pasa Mansion, which is now opened as a City Museum (depending on density, the Cahit Sitki Taranci House may be visited instead of the Cemil Pasa Mansion). After our mansion visit, we have our tea break at Suluklu Han. Following our tea break, we see the Mardin Gate panoramically and depart for Mardin. On our way, we visit Zerzevan Castle, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. Zerzevan Castle is one of the best-preserved Roman garrisons in the world with its military settlement, underground and above-ground structures. The places we will see here are; South Tower, Church, Arsenal, Water Cisterns, Residences, Necropolis Area, and Mithraeum. After our castle tour, we set off for Mardin, the fairy-tale city where stone comes to life. We carry out our tour in Old Mardin on foot. The places we will see during our walk accompanied by our guide are; Latifiye Mosque, Grand Mosque, Revakli Bazaar, Coppersmiths Bazaar, Sahtana Family House, Sehidiye Mosque, Historical Houses, Abbaras, and the Old Government House. Afterwards, we visit the Living Museum. It is a museum where the fading cultures of Mesopotamia are practiced with live performances. Inside, many activities such as Copper Workshop, Filigree Workshop, Almond Candy Workshop, Reyhani Game Room, Dengbej Room, Lead Pouring, Erbane Room, and Root Dye Application Room are demonstrated practically. After our museum tour, we meet with our vehicle and depart for our hotel. For those who wish, we depart from our hotel for dinner (Extra).

In the Dara Ancient City, which was one of the most important settlements of Upper Mesopotamia in history, we see the Water Cisterns, Historical Stone Quarry, and Cemetery. After our ancient city tour, we depart for Beyazsu via Nusaybin. Beyazsu is like an oasis in the arid and treeless geography of Mardin with its cool and clear water, local trees, and greenery. Then, after our lunch break in Midyat, we depart for the Syriac settlement of Haberli Village (Basibrin). We give free time in the bazaars for you to buy souvenirs, jewelry, and Syriac wines made from filigree, which is the silver processing art unique to Midyat. CLIMATE

A continental climate is observed in our Eastern Anatolia Region. The characteristic of the continental climate is that winters are cold and snowy, and summers are generally hot and dry. In places where the continental climate is seen, winter starts early and there is an average of 90 days of snow cover. Summers also start as early as winter and are hot, but since the humidity is low, this heat is not felt much; the temperature difference between night and day and the annual temperature difference is very high.
