MUSTAFAPAŞA - UNDERGROUND CITY – IHLARA VALLEY - NEVŞEHİR KALE DISTRICT

On the third day of our tour, following breakfast at our hotel, our first stop will be a Leather Atelier and store. After some free time here, we head to Mustafapaşa, where the TV series Asmalı Konak (Panoramic) was filmed and where you can see the finest examples of Greek stone masonry. Following a pleasant walk through the mystical streets of Mustafapaşa, we visit the Özkonak Underground City (Depending on crowd levels and the tour program, a visit to either Derinkuyu or Kaymaklı Underground City may be arranged instead), which was built to allow thousands of people fleeing enemy raids to live for months. We set off for Ihlara Valley, historically known as Peristremma, one of the rare areas where nature, history, art, and culture come together with its flora, churches, and chapels. Housing thousands of living spaces, Ihlara Valley holds the distinction of being the world's largest canyon where people lived in past periods, unlike other canyons (In case of road works, the Ihlara Valley tour will be conducted via Belisırma Village or Selimiye). During our walk, we will see the pigeon houses, the Melendiz River, the living spaces, and the Kirkdamalti Church (Saint George Church). After a short break by the river, we visit the recently opened old settlement area carved into the rocks at the foothills of Nevşehir Castle. The places we will see here include the Underground City, Rock Mosque, Oil Refinery, and Old Rock Houses, among others. Afterwards, we depart for Kayseri Airport to begin our return journey. We board our Ajet Airlines flight at 23.00 and arrive in Istanbul. For guests wishing to use the service from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, we have transfers available to Kadıköy, Şişli, and Yenibosna. CLIMATE

Since the region is surrounded by high mountains, the moist and temperate air of the seas cannot penetrate the area. Therefore, a continental climate prevails in the region, with hot and dry summers and cold and snowy winters. Towards the east of the region, the degree of continentality increases due to the increasing altitude, and winter temperatures reach very low values. Central Asia Minor is the region of our country that receives the least precipitation. Average precipitation is around 400 mm. The region receives the most precipitation in the form of showers in the spring months. The driest season is summer. The dryness of summers and the early onset of summer drought have a negative impact on vegetable-type plants. The least rainy place in the region and our country is around Lake Tuz (320 mm). The scarcity of precipitation is due to the region being closed to maritime influences. The moist air mass coming from the sea leaves its moisture in the form of precipitation on the mountain slopes facing the sea. As it blows towards the Central Anatolia Region, it is already dry.
