Afterward, we will see the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in the country with a history of approximately two thousand years, reflecting Sri Lanka's Buddhist art and spiritual heritage in the most impressive way with its five separate caves carved into a giant rock mass, more than 150 Buddha statues from different periods, a giant reclining Buddha depiction, and colorful religious frescoes covering the walls and ceilings. After our trip, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. Overnight at our hotel.

Sigiriya – Sigiriya Lion Rock – Anuradhapura – Matale Spice Gardens – Kandy

After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we depart for the Sigiriya Lion Rock, Anuradhapura, and Matale Spice Garden Tour. Our first stop will be the Sigiriya Lion Rock, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, was built by King Kashyapa on a massive rock mass in the fifth century, and is considered one of Sri Lanka's most impressive archaeological sites. We will visit this magnificent structure, also known as Lion Rock, with its symmetrical water gardens, elegant frescoes carved into the surface of the rocks, the Mirror Wall where visitors could see their reflections with its polished surface in the past, historical stairs reached through giant lion paws, and the endless forest view opening from its summit. After our visit, we turn our direction to the Ancient City of Anuradhapura, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and maintained its importance as the political and religious center of Sri Lanka for approximately 13 centuries. During our trip to this ancient city, which reveals the country's deep-rooted Buddhist past with its magnificent stupas, massive monastery complexes, palaces and worship areas surrounded by stone columns, sacred pools, and archaeological ruins spread over a wide geography, we will see the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, which is believed to have been grown from a sapling of the sacred tree where Buddha reached enlightenment in Bodh Gaya, India, and the ancient monasteries used as centers of education and worship by Buddhist monks for centuries. Continuing our trip, we depart for the Matale Spice Garden to get to know Sri Lanka's centuries-old spice production tradition closely. Within the garden surrounded by tropical plants, we will get information about the cultivation and processing processes of spices unique to the region such as cinnamon, black pepper, cardamom, nutmeg, and cloves, and discover the place of these aromatic products in traditional Sri Lankan cuisine and local life culture.
