In the morning hours on the way, if there is sufficient participation, we visit Kalambaka – Meteora as an optional tour. (65.€) Meteora means 'suspended in space'. You won't believe your eyes when you see these incredibly tall and steep rocks. Not only does it have a tremendous geology, but it also broadens your imagination. These mind-boggling rocks in Central Greece rise vertically to the flat valley located north of Kalambaka and south of the Pindus Mountains. Monastic life began in the 11th century with the first monks coming to these paradise-like pillars to live as hermits in a suitable place. Here we see the Monasteries built on steep rocks and visit the Varlam Monastery together, getting information about the formation of monasteries and monastic life. (Monastery entrance ticket is included in the optional tour fee!) (Our guests who are not included in the optional tour are required to wait at the rest facility below for about 1.5 hours!) After a short lunch break, we depart for Athens. Following our arrival in Athens, during our panoramic city tour; Piraeus Port, Acropolis, Agora, Temple of Zeus, Parliament Building, Syntagma and Omonia Squares, Presidential Palace, Prime Ministry Residence, Historic Olympic Stadium, Panepistimiou Avenues, National Library and Academy University are among the places to be seen panoramically from the bus. After our panoramic tour, we check in to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel in Athens.
Free time after morning breakfast. Our guests who wish can join the optionally organized Athens Acropolis & Monastiraki Square Tour. (75.-€ / Entrance Tickets Included!) This tour starts with departure from the hotel at 08.00 in the morning. Athens = Acropolis, Athens Acropolis, is an ancient citadel located on a high rocky outcrop overlooking Athens, containing the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historical significance. The Acropolis of Athens is the best known of all Acropolises, so it is usually the first place that comes to mind worldwide when Acropolis is mentioned. After touring the Acropolis and Slopes, the Ancient Agora, and Hadrian's Library accompanied by our local guide, we proceed to Monastiraki Square, the most lively area of Athens. During our free time here, we have the opportunity for lunch and shopping in this area, which is filled with beautiful fish restaurants, taverns, kebab shops, pastry shops, cafes, and boutiques. We return to our hotel at 13.00 and conclude our tour. Afterwards, guests who wish can join the Corinth Canal & Nafplio Tour. (75.€) This tour starts with departure from the hotel at 13.30. Proceeding along the Saronic Gulf, we will arrive at the Corinth Canal, which connects the Ionian and Aegean seas, the construction of which began in 1887 and was opened to maritime traffic in 1893. Here, we will give a photo break to see the bridges over the Corinth Canal and watch the passage of ships from the bridge. Afterwards, upon our arrival in Nafplio, the first capital of Greece founded in 1829 and the most beautiful and elegant city of the Peloponnese Peninsula, having also hosted the Spartans, Byzantines, Franks, Venetians, and Ottomans, we begin our panoramic tour from the vehicle by seeing the Palamidi Castle, built by the Venetians in 1714 and perched on the edge of the hill behind the city. Subsequently, we see the Bourtzi Castle, built by the Venetians for defensive purposes in 1471, located just off the coast of the city. Afterwards, on our walking tour, the Vouleftiko Mosque known as the New Mosque, built in 1730 as the city's old mosque and also having served as the first parliament building of the Greek state, the Agapasa Mosque (Trianon) built in the late 1500s on the city's most important square and now hosting a local theater, the cathedral, and the Venetian Palace are among the places to be seen panoramically. We give free time to enjoy the narrow streets, well-kept colorful buildings, consecutive taverns and cafes, and small and large boutique and jewelry-design stores sandwiched between all these of the old and stylish Nafplio, one of the most beautiful cities of the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, and for dinner. We leave Nafplio at 19.00 and return to our hotel. Our tour ends at 20.00. Guests who wish can join the evening Live music, entertaining Tavern & Sirtaki program. (75.-€ / Fixed Menu – Limited Drinks) Overnight stay at our hotel in Athens.
After breakfast, we head to Thessaloniki. Following our arrival in Thessaloniki around noon, during our Thessaloniki panoramic city tour, we see the Church of Saint Demetrios, the largest church in Greece, the house where the great leader Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey, was born and lived (we see it from the outside as it is closed on Mondays!), Hagia Sophia Church, Ottoman Bath, Ottoman Mosque, Bedesten, White Tower, Rotating Tower, and the International Fairgrounds. We take a walk along the Waterfront of Thessaloniki, famous for its cafes and shops, and then give free time in Aristotle Square. Afterwards, hotel check-in and free time. Guests who wish can join the Thessaloniki Mega Center & Jumbo Store Shopping Tour to be organized at 15.30, which includes world-famous brands. (20.€) Overnight at our hotel in Thessaloniki.
After morning breakfast, we depart for Kavala. Arrival in Kavala. Kavala panoramic city tour; Imaret, Aqueducts, Kavala Castle, City Hall, Kavala bazaar, and the Waterfront are among the places to be seen panoramically from the bus. After 1 hour of free time, we depart for Xanthi (İskeçe). After taking a short panoramic walking tour in the old bazaar consisting of traditional old Turkish houses reminiscent of Safranbolu in Xanthi, an important settlement where Western Thrace Turks live, we give 1.5 hours of free time to enjoy the beautiful cafes and taverns. Afterwards, after seeing the cities of Komotini (Gümülcine) and Alexandroupolis (Dedeağaç), where Turks also densely live, panoramically from the bus and a short shopping break at the Lidl Market, we pass to the İpsala border gate. Shopping opportunity at the Greek Freeshop during customs and passport procedures. Arrival in Istanbul via İpsala, Keşan, Tekirdağ and end of our tour. Hope to see you on our next tour…
