CLIMATE

A continental climate is observed in our Southeastern Anatolia Region. The characteristic of the continental climate is that winters are cold and snowy, while summers are generally hot and arid. In places where the continental climate is observed, winter starts early and the average duration of snow on the ground is 90 days. Summers also start as early as winter and are hot, but since humidity is low, this heat is not felt intensely; the temperature difference between night and day and the annual temperature difference is very high.
