Our tour departs for Tbilisi with the Pegasus Airlines Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen – Tbilisi flight which will depart at 02.00. After meeting with our vehicle and guide waiting for us in Tbilisi, we head to our restaurant to shake off our morning drowsiness and have our extra breakfast. When we arrive at the region close to the Russian border, we will also have the chance to see the magnificence of the Caucasus Mountains up close. Guests who wish at the ski center can rent ski clothes and go skiing. Snow quality in Gudauri is very good, and due to the location of the mountain, there is not much icing. Since there are no trees between the slopes, there are a lot of deep snow areas here. At the end of our free time, we depart for Anaruri Fortress. In the structure, which is considered one of the best-preserved monuments from the early feudal period, we will feel the atmosphere of the Middle Ages with all its gloomy and dark events. After photographing the castle, which was also visited by Aleksandr Sergeyevich Pushkin in 1829, and the Jinvali Reservoir, Georgia's largest artificial lake, we settle into our hotel in Borjomi after a journey of about 3 hours.

CLIMATE

It is a generally temperate climate type with precipitation in every season. Frontal and orographic precipitation is dominant. The presence of high mountains parallel to the coast in the region has created an environment for the increase of precipitation. Although not among the precipitation amounts in the region, the highest precipitation is seen in autumn and the least precipitation is seen in spring. The region is also the most humid region of our country in terms of humidity. For this reason, the annual and daily temperature difference in the region is not much. At the same time, winter in the region is not very cold, but passes with precipitation. Precipitation is mostly in the form of rain, and snowfall, frost events can be seen as well as fog is frequently seen. Summer months in the region also pass moderately. The average of the hottest month does not exceed 22°C-24°C. The average temperature of the coldest month is always above 0°C. From time to time, cold air masses coming from the northwest affect the region, but this effect disappears as one goes east of the region. The region shows variations in terms of temperature and precipitation according to its geographical characteristics. Precipitation occurs with the cool and moist air coming over the Black Sea rising along the North Anatolian Mountains. Due to the high altitude in the Eastern Black Sea Section, the highest precipitation is seen in this section. The annual precipitation amount is on average 2000 mm (Rize 2300 mm). On the southern part of the North Anatolian Mountains, this value drops to 300 mm. The Central Black Sea Section, on the other hand, is the least precipitation-receiving section of the region due to the decrease in altitude. Here, the annual precipitation amount is around 700 mm on average. In the Western Black Sea Section, parallel to the fact that the altitude is less than the Eastern Black Sea Section, precipitation in this section is less than the Eastern Black Sea Section. The annual precipitation amount is around 1200 mm on average. Throughout the region, the annual precipitation amount can exceed 2000 mm, especially in the Eastern Black Sea Section, and can drop to 600 mm in the Central Black Sea Section.
