Day 1

KARS - FETHİYE MOSQUE - NAMIK KEMAL HOUSE - KANLI TABYA WAR HISTORY MUSEUM

Our Kars tour program, full of culture and history, begins with the pickup of our guests from the designated departure points with our transfer vehicles. We transfer to Sabiha Gökçen Airport by departing from in front of Beylikdüzü Migros at 04.30, in front of Yenibosna Airport AVM at 05.00, in front of the Şişli Prontotour head office at 05.30, and next to the Kadıköy Marriage Office parking lot at 06.00 (Service hours may vary depending on flight time changes. For tours with flights, service hour information is provided before the tour.). We complete our check-in procedures at the airport with an identity card or driver's license. We meet our guests who will arrive at the airport on their own at 06.30 in front of the AJet Airlines counter. After the security check, we fly towards Kars, our border city in the easternmost part of Turkey, with AJet Airlines' 08.50 Sabiha Gökçen - Kars flight. With our tour vehicle greeting us at Kars Airport, we set out to explore this fantastic city, the rising star of Eastern Anatolia in recent times. The first stop of our trip, where we will closely feel the rich cultural and historical texture of Kars, will be the enchanting Fethiye Mosque, which was built as a church in the Baltic architectural style by the Russians in the late 19th century and converted into a mosque in 1985. This historical structure is one of the most concrete examples of the city's multicultural past. Then, we move to the Apostles' Church (Kümbet Mosque), which is a unique example of Armenian-Georgian architecture located at the foothills of the magnificent Kars Castle. While examining the details of the stone craftsmanship of the structure, we journey into the deep history of the region. We continue our tour by walking through the wide and planned streets of Kars, the land of ashiks. During this walk, where we will feel as if we are in a European city thanks to the "Grid Plan" layout implemented during the Russian occupation period and the historical stone buildings, we step into one of Anatolia's richest gourmet centers. We have the opportunity to experience local flavors such as Kars' famous old kashar cheese, world-famous gruyere, organic Kars honey, piti, hangel, kete, famous Kars goose meat, and yellow fish. We continue our historical discoveries with the Historical Stone Bridge, which reaches from the Roman period to the present and is still actively used, and the Historical Bath right next to it. We witness the literary past of Kars by seeing the house where the famous national poet Namık Kemal lived for a time from the outside. The last impressive stop of the day will be the Kanlı Tabya War History Museum, which witnessed some of the most sad and heroic defenses of our recent history. We take a short break in history accompanied by ethnographic materials, military equipment used in wars, and portable cultural assets exhibited in the museum. After this full first day, we settle into our hotel in Kars for accommodation.

During periods when seasonal conditions and ice thickness are suitable, guests who wish to do so can go on a horse-drawn sleigh safari on the frozen lake or watch live the Eskimo-style ice fishing, which has become a symbol of the lake. After the free time we will give by the lakeside and postcard-worthy photo shoots, we have our lunch on the lakeshore accompanied by the fresh flavors of the region. The Atatürk University Ata Ice Works Museum, the first and only ice museum in our country, offers both an artistic and cultural experience with its unique works where art is reflected on ice, providing us with unforgettable moments. After our cultural discoveries, we go to the historical Taşhan (Rüstem Pasha Caravanserai) for shopping for Oltu stone, Erzurum's world-famous black amber. After wonderful souvenirs for your loved ones, we move to our restaurant to experience some of the most special flavors of the gourmet world.
