ERZURUM JOURNEY BY EAST EXPRESS - YAKUTIYE MADRASA - TAŞ HAN

After a lovely morning breakfast at our hotel, at 08:00, we take our places in the Pullman carriage of the historic East Express, one of the most enjoyable moments of this trip, and set off towards Erzurum, the land of dadaşlar. After a nostalgic journey of approximately four hours accompanied by the fascinating landscapes of the railways, we arrive in Erzurum. (In case of a possible disruption in train services, our journey will be carried out via the Kars-Erzurum highway with our comfortable tour vehicle, and on this route, we will have the chance to visit the Sarıkamış Martyrdom, where tales of heroism were written.) Upon our arrival in Erzurum, we step into the streets that resemble an open-air museum to discover the city's deep-rooted history and architectural masterpieces. Among the historical sites we will see as part of our cultural tour are the Yakutiye Madrasa with its magnificent architecture dating back to the Ilkhanid period, the Çifte Minareli Madrasa, a Seljuk masterpiece and one of the city's most important symbols, the Ulu Mosque, the oldest and largest place of worship in the city, the Three Tombs (Üç Kümbetler), one of the most beautiful examples of monumental tombs in Anatolia, and the Erzurum Congress and National Struggle Museum (if open), where the foundations of our Republic were laid. The Atatürk University Ata Ice Art Museum, the first and only ice museum in our country, offers both an artistic and cultural experience with its unique works where art is reflected in ice, providing us with unforgettable moments. After our cultural discoveries, we go to the historic Taşhan (Rüstem Pasha Caravanserai) for shopping for Erzurum's world-famous black amber, Oltu stone. After wonderful souvenirs for your loved ones, we proceed to our restaurant to experience the most special flavors of the gourmet world. When it comes to Erzurum, we enjoy a feast that will leave unforgettable marks on our palate with the delicious Cağ Kebab, flavored over a wood fire, and crispy Kadayıf Dolması.
