Surrounded by eucalyptus and world-famous cork oak forests, Rabat is situated on a fascinating coast where the Bou Regreg River pours into the ocean. In Rabat, which has preserved its title of capital since the exiled king's return to the country and declaration of independence from this city; the Oudaia Kasbah (Kasbah des Oudaias) overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the magnificent Hassan Tower, and the Mohammed V Mausoleum which has left its mark on the country's modern history are among the visits we will make.
After our Rabat tour, we set off towards Fez, the belief and cultural center of Morocco, and the oldest royal city of the country. With our arrival in Fez, we begin our fascinating Old Capital Fez & Medina tour, which gives the feeling that time has stopped. We explore the monumental gate of the Royal Palace, Bab-el Makhzen, dazzling with its brass workmanship, and the historical Jewish quarter Mellah right next to it. Then we move to the Medina (Fez el-Bali) area, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List with over 9 thousand labyrinth streets. Here we visit the Attarine Madrasah, the Karaouine University accepted as the oldest university in the world, Nejjarine Square and Fountain famous for its tiles, traditional bazaars where hand-made jewelry and copper goods specific to Morocco are sold, and ceramic workshops. Finally, we panoramically see the famous Tanneries (Tanneries) located near the Fez River, where traditional methods of root dyeing and leather processing have been maintained for centuries. After our Chefchaouen trip, which offers unique squares for photography lovers, we will have free time to shop and explore the streets as you wish in this charming town famous for its hand-woven fabrics and local handicrafts. After a pleasant free time, we return to our hotel in Fez. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for Ifrane, located at the foothills of the Middle Atlas Mountains and fascinating with its unique nature. Ifrane, referred to as the "Little Switzerland" of Morocco; is one of the country's most striking tourist centers with its famous ski resort, orderly streets, and Swiss-style alpine architecture. After our pleasant walk and free time here, we cross the Atlas Mountains and reach the town of Midelt located on our way. After our lunch break at a local restaurant, we continue our journey towards the Erfoud / Merzouga region, the gateway of the Sahara Desert where red dunes begin. Upon our arrival in Merzouga, we realize our Sunset Camel Safari tour. (Depending on weather conditions, it can also be done at sunrise the next morning.) Towards evening, we reach and settle in our private desert camp (or our hotel) right next to the dunes where we will stay in the desert. In our facility dominating the large dunes (Erg Chebbi), we watch the magnificent Sahara sunset where the sky paints red. After the traditional dinner we will have at the camp, we experience unforgettable moments accompanied by millions of years lighting up the sky around the campfire in the fascinating silence of the desert.
Important Recommendation: We recommend that you do not miss the magnificent sunrise, which is the symbol of the Sahara Desert the next morning, and definitely photograph the first lights of the sun over the sand dunes.
Accommodation: Desert Camp or Desert Hotel (Le Belle Etoile Tent or Room, etc.)
(Note: Tent camp accommodation is carried out depending on seasonal availability and weather conditions.)
After breakfast at our hotel (or our camp), we say goodbye to the fascinating desert landscapes and set off towards Ouarzazate via Tinghir. Throughout this journey, which will literally pass in the flavor of a fascinating "road story", the vast plains of the Sahara on one side and the High Atlas Mountains with their snow-capped peaks extending to the sky on the other will accompany us. During our journey, we see ancient underground water channels and then visit the Todra Valley and Canyon, a natural wonder where huge rocks rise vertically. Passing through the Kelaat M'gouna (Valley of Roses) region, located on our route and known for Morocco's famous rosewater production, we reach Ouarzazate, the heart of the Moroccan cinema industry. Here, we see from the outside the world-famous Atlas Film Studios, which host the gigantic sets of many cult Hollywood productions such as The Message, The Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy, Gladiator, Alexander, and Babel. One of the most exciting stops of the day will be Ait Benhaddou, a historical fortified village (ksar) on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Fascinating with its unique architecture made of earth and straw, this ancient village was used as the city of "Yunkai" in Game of Thrones, one of the biggest television phenomena of recent years, and hosted iconic scenes where Daenerys Targaryen liberated the slaves. After exploring this cinematic geography hosting world stars such as Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and famous director Martin Scorsese, we settle into our hotel in Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.
After breakfast at our hotel, we set off to go to Marrakech, the symbol city of Morocco. During our journey, while crossing the High Atlas Mountains, we pass through the famous Tizi n'Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2260 meters, one of the highest and most breathtaking vehicle passes in North Africa. After our pleasant journey where we can photograph traditional Berber villages built on mountain slopes and unique mountain landscapes, we arrive in Marrakech. Without wasting time, we move for our tour of the historical Marrakech Medina (Old Town) on the UNESCO World Heritage List and Jemaa el-Fna Square, which is considered the heart of the country and bustling at all hours of the day. During our walk in the labyrinth streets, we visit a local herbalist where we will get information about argan oil production, Morocco's world-famous liquid gold, medicinal herbs and exotic spices. Towards evening, after breathing the fascinating atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna Square, which turns into an open-air theater with magicians, acrobats, snake charmers and street artists, we transfer to our hotel. Room check-in and free time to rest. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.
After breakfast at our hotel, we set off for our In the Footsteps of Argan Trees: Essaouira & Mogador tour, stretching towards the breezy shores of the Atlantic Ocean. During our journey, we pass through the region with the densest concentration of argan trees, which grow exclusively in this geography, and visit a local Argan Oil Women's Cooperative. Here, we see how the argan fruit is processed using traditional methods and receive valuable information about its healing properties. Following our visit, we arrive at the fairytale city of Essaouira (formerly known as Mogador), located on the Atlantic coast, which reminds us of the old Bodrum with its whitewashed houses. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, this charming coastal town is known for its massive fortresses, historic fishing port, art galleries, and bohemian streets. In this cinematic town—which has hosted Orson Welles's movie Othello in the past, and in recent years, "Astapor", the city where the Unsullied army was established in the TV series Game of Thrones—we explore the historical ramparts defying the ocean, the bustling fishing port, and the Medina (Old Town), which was quite regularly designed by a French architect in the 18th century, unlike other cities in Morocco. We will have free time to shop in the streets of this town, which hosted world legends like Jimi Hendrix in the 1960s and remains the heart of music and art today, and to taste fresh seafood. After enjoying the narrow labyrinthine streets and colorful shops that you will never get tired of exploring, we return to our hotel in Marrakech. Free time to check in to our rooms and rest. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.
After enjoying breakfast at our hotel, we check out of our rooms and depart for our Marrakech's World-Famous Oasis, Yves Saint Laurent's Mysterious Treasure: Majorelle Gardens tour. We explore this botanical paradise, meticulously woven with exotic plants brought from all over the world over a period of more than forty years by French painter Jacques Majorelle, and later purchased by the famous fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, giving it its current dazzling form. After photographing the iconic "Majorelle Blue" villa, giant cacti, and pools, which contrast with the redness of the city, we depart for Marrakech Menara Airport at the time to be determined by our tour leader. Following our arrival at the airport around 13.15, we complete our baggage, ticket, and boarding procedures. We depart for Istanbul at 16.15 on Turkish Airlines flight TK0620. With our arrival at Istanbul Airport at 23.20 local time, we come to the end of our pleasant, comfortable, and fairy-tale-filled Platinum Morocco tour. Until we meet again on your next trip!
