Rhone River Burgundy and Provence with Deluxe Amadeus Provence IST-LYON

Meeting at Istanbul Airport International Departures, in front of the Turkish Airlines counter at 04:00. After check-in and passport procedures, flight to Lyon at 07:10 with flight number TK 1807. Arrival at 09:30 local time. After passport and customs procedures, we will conduct our Lyon City Tour before transferring to our ship in the port of Lyon with our waiting vehicle. During our tour, we will explore France's third-largest city after Paris and Marseille, founded 2000 years ago at the confluence of the Saone and Rhone rivers. During our tour, the elegant Opera House and City Hall, the Fourviere Basilica dedicated to the Virgin Mary located at the highest point of the city and its observation terrace, the narrow streets of Old Lyon, Lyon Cathedral, and Bellecour Square will be among the places to see. After the tour, we transfer to our ship waiting for us at the port in the afternoon and complete our check-in procedures. Dinner follows the Captain's welcome cocktail. Our ship will dock in Macon, located in southern Burgundy, in the morning. After breakfast on board, free time in Lyon where we will stay until noon. In the afternoon, we will be sailing towards Avignon accompanied by wonderful views.

This morning we dock in the historic city of Avignon, which also hosted the Papal seat in the 14th century. After breakfast on board, those who wish can join the Baux de Provence, Carrieres de Lumieres Show, and Avignon Tour, which will be organized as an extra by their guide. You will love the magical atmosphere and nature of Baux, which we will reach after a journey of approximately half an hour. Then, we will visit an interactive museum called Carrieres de Lumiere, a very special exhibition held inside an old stone quarry. In an area of approximately 7000 m2, we will experience more than 2000 works that will be projected onto the walls of the giant stone quarry, accompanied by music that is sometimes lively and sometimes melancholic. On our walking tour in Avignon on the way back, the Palace of the Popes (entrance not included), Avignon Cathedral, narrow streets unique to the Provence region, the historic theater where Moliere performed, and the Benezet bridge will be among the places we will see. At the end of the tour, we will have free time to discover local products such as lavender, soap, and spices unique to Provence and for shopping. Our ship will weigh anchor during dinner and continue its voyage. 

This morning we dock in Arles, which is also identified with the world-famous painter Van Gogh. Those who wish can join the St. Remy de Provence & Van Gogh Museum / Aix en Provence tour, which will be organized as an extra by their guide. The biggest reason why the village of St. Remy de Provence is so well-known is that it hosts the psychology clinic where Van Gogh received treatment for about 2 years and painted almost all of his well-known paintings. Today, this clinic has become a museum. Then we will visit Aix en Provence, one of the most well-known cities in the Provence region. We will follow the traces of Cezanne and remember Emile Zola, who shaped the history of France. After the tour, we return to our ship in Arles.

Our ship will depart after breakfast from Chateauneuf du Rhone, where it will dock after midnight, and weigh anchor towards Le Pouzin.
