Zanzibar compulsory health insurance
As of October 1, 2024, all foreign passengers arriving in Zanzibar who do not have a residence permit in Tanzania are required to take out compulsory travel insurance in the amount of 44 US Dollars, even if they have private travel insurance. The insurance covers a period of 90 days.
Foreigners traveling to the island can obtain a "QR" code by taking out the said insurance through the "Zanzibar Insurance Corporation" before their visit. For detailed information and insurance payment: https://visitzanzibar.go.tz
