After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, our guests who wish can participate in the full-day Karlovci & Novi Sad tour organized as an extra.
Karlovci & Novi Sad Tour - (75 Euros per person)
We first visit the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, the capital of the Vojvodina Province in northern Serbia. After a photo break at the impressive view of Novi Sad from the fortress, we arrive at the center of Novi Sad. During our walking tour in the city where Albert Einstein also lived for a while, the Liberty Square, Svetozar Miletić Statue, Catholic Cathedral, Orthodox Saint George's Cathedral, Saint Nicholas Church, and the Synagogue are among the places to be seen panoramically. After our tour, we set off to visit the town of Sremski Karlovci (Karlovci), which also has an important place in our history. The town, whose history dates back to 7000 BC and has always had an important place in history, hosted the first Serbian middle school and high school. Other works we will see in Karlovci, which was the center of the Serbian Orthodox Church until 1922, will be the city council, the Catholic Church, and the Four Lions Fountain. The town also holds an important place in Ottoman history with the Treaty of Karlovci dated 1699, which is considered the beginning of the decline of the Ottoman Empire and the first treaty where large-scale territory was lost. We also visit the Peace Chapel located on the hill where the treaty was signed. After some free time here, we end our tour.
After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, our guests who wish can participate in the Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito's Memorial Tomb and Zemun tour organized as an extra.
Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito's Memorial Tomb & Zemun Tour - (70 Euros per person)
In this tour, we first go to the Nikola Tesla Museum. The Nikola Tesla Museum, dedicated to the Serbian-born scientist who invented alternating current, was founded in 1952. In this museum, over 160,000 original documents, more than 2,000 books and magazines, and numerous photographs, drawings, plans, and tools describing Tesla's work and life are exhibited. In addition to this collection, interactive displays are also held in the museum to emphasize the scientist's contributions to technology. Later, we visit the tomb of Josip Broz Tito, the former President of Yugoslavia, who was elected President of Yugoslavia on January 13, 1953, turned Yugoslavia into a Socialist Federal Republic, was made president for life in 1974, and died in 1980. The memorial tomb is located in a white sarcophagus in the middle of a single-story building called the House of Flowers. Excerpts from Tito's life and some of his personal belongings are also exhibited here. Finally, we set off for Zemun. The city of Zemun, which remained autonomous throughout its history and is now connected to the New Belgrade section of Belgrade, is like a different city within the city. Located on the banks of the Danube River, opposite the Belgrade Fortress, this city is home to the Ušće Fortress, Gardoš Hill, and Gardoš Tower. The region, which bears traces of Austria architecturally, is a place where you can have a pleasant time with its cobblestone streets and narrow alleys. Zemun was also a place where fishermen lived for a period, and today, fisherman shelters have been restored and converted into restaurants. After our tour, we give free time. Then, transfer to our hotel.
