Lapland is the region located in the furthest northwestern part of Russia along the northern sections of Norway, Sweden, and Finland. It is surrounded by the Norwegian Sea to the west and the White Sea to the east. Sweden's highest peaks are in Swedish Lapland. The indigenous people of Lapland, the Lapps, have been living scattered across Lapland for two thousand years. Lapland is such a place that it is impossible to experience what you will live here anywhere else. At night, you will feel the stars in the palm of your hand, and if you are lucky, you will have the chance to see the magnificent Northern Lights. The period when the Northern Lights are seen is the equinox time. In other words, the probability of seeing them between October and April is very high. Lapland is most famous for its Reindeer. There are more reindeer than people in the region. The indigenous people living here sustain their livelihood thanks to Reindeer. There are numerous Reindeer farms in the region. OUR TOUR'S PLUSES We will spend one night in the city of Helsinki and have the opportunity to see important historical buildings and squares in the city. By staying 1 night in an Igloo in Rovaniemi, we will experience the culture of the region firsthand. You can sleep in your glass-topped Igloo by watching the stars and, if you are lucky, the Northern Lights. We will visit the legendary Santa Claus Village and spend very enjoyable times here. We will visit the Reindeer Farm, feed the reindeer here, and take a sleigh ride. We will visit the farm of Husky Dogs, the symbol of the north, and take a sleigh ride with these cute animals. We will visit the city of Kemi and see the magnificent Ice Castle, which melts every year and is rebuilt from scratch in winter. Inside the castle, you can see interesting sculptures made of ice

ISTANBUL – ROVANIEMI – SANTA CLAUS VILLAGE – NORTHERN LIGHTS

We depart from Istanbul to Rovaniemi with a Turkish Airlines scheduled flight (TK1749) at 09:45 in the morning. We arrive in Rovaniemi at 13:25. With our bus welcoming us at the airport, we first move to Santa Claus Village.

Santa Claus Village Visit

Santa Claus Village is known as the home of Santa Claus and is especially popular in the winter months. It is famous for its traditional Lappish houses and snow-covered landscapes. Visitors can visit Santa Claus's house and convey their special wishes. In addition, you can drop cards into the red mailboxes at Santa Claus's post office to reach yourself or your loved ones at the next Christmas time. The village is full of souvenir shops, local handicrafts, and Christmas-themed cafes. A wonderful place to experience the magical atmosphere of Christmas for people of all ages, Santa Claus Village is the point where the Arctic Circle passes, and the arctic line is indicated by a blue light line. After our visit to Santa Claus Village, we move to our hotel in Rovaniemi city center. Before checking into the hotel, we stop by the safari office and pick up our thermal clothing to be used in the safaris and tours we will make.

Ice Hotel Visit, Dinner, and Northern Lights

After hotel check-in and a short rest, we move to the ice hotel. The Ice Hotel is a popular attraction open to visitors every day between December 15 and April 1. It is one of the largest snow hotels located on the Arctic Circle. The Snow Hotel is built differently every year and decorated with ice and snow art. Visitors can tour the rooms made of ice, ice sculptures, the Ice Bar, and the Ice Restaurant. Following the visit, we have our dinner featuring main course salmon cooked on a wood fire at Kota, the traditional Lappish house belonging to the ice hotel. If our luck holds and the weather is clear, we will catch the chance to see the northern lights. We return to our hotel late in the evening

ROVANIEMI – HUSKY AND REINDEER SAFARIS

After breakfast in the morning, we move to the husky and reindeer farm.

Husky Safari

We arrive at the husky farm and visit huskies, one of the cutest dogs in the world. Today we will learn how to steer our own husky team and experience an unforgettable sleigh ride with these cute friends. Then we relax accompanied by hot drinks around the fire in a traditional Lappish hut (kota). After the husky tour, we move on to the reindeer farm.

Reindeer Safari

After getting information about reindeer from our local guide, we take a tour with sleighs pulled by reindeer in the snow-covered forest. After this unforgettable experience, we spend pleasant moments around the burning fire and receive a "Reindeer Driving Certificate" at the end of the tour. Afterwards, we eat our lunch consisting of reindeer stew, which is a traditional Lapland meal. Then we return to our hotel by bus. Free time for the evening.

ROVANIEMI – ICEBREAKER SHIP CRUISE

Icebreaker Ship Cruise

After our morning breakfast, we move to the city of Kalix in Sweden, located 170 km away from Rovaniemi, for the icebreaker activity. During our journey, we cross the Sweden-Finland border and arrive at Axelsvik port. During our 3-hour journey with the world's largest touristic icebreaker ship, you will witness how the ice on the frozen sea is broken. Halfway through our journey, in the middle of the ice-covered sea, we wear thermal overalls specially designed to survive in cold seas and keep us on the water surface, and we swim in the pool created by the ship breaking the ice. After our tour, which is among the activities that must be tried before dying by National Geographic, we go to Kullolaforsen, a fishing town in Sweden, for our lunch. After lunch, return to Rovaniemi. This evening, we will stay in igloos specially made of glass on the north facade so that you can see the northern lights in room comfort, special to Lapland. Dinner at the hotel.

ROVANIEMI – SNOWMOBILE SAFARI – ISTANBUL

Snowmobile Safari

This morning we will make an unforgettable tour in frozen river valleys and snow-covered forests with a snowmobile. During the journey, we will enjoy the frozen landscape and take breaks with hot drinks. There are two people per snowmobile, and you can change drivers halfway through the road. After the snowmobile, we deliver our thermal clothing. Afterwards, we transfer to the airport. We move to Istanbul at 15:25 with a Turkish Airlines scheduled flight (TK1750). Arrival at Istanbul Airport at 21:10 local time and end of our tour.
